According to a February 2025 post on X by Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is exploring the launch of autonomous robots for the home, both humanoid and non-humanoid. The most optimistic projections point to 2028 as a possible launch date.

In early 2025 the company presented another robot that reacted visually and expressively to the instructions it was given. In this way the prototype interacted by showing intention, attention and emotion. The aim is to improve the connection between humans and machines.

This project, still at an early stage of development, breaks with Apple's traditional secrecy, possibly in order to attract talent and show the potential of strategic partnerships to position itself as a key player in the future of domestic robotics.

Why autonomous robots matter

We are facing one of humanity's biggest crises: the fall in the birth rate and population ageing.

This process will bring challenges in areas such as:

  • Employment and the sustainability of the labour system.
  • Innovation and technological competitiveness.
  • Productivity and efficiency in industry.
  • Care for older and dependent people.

and robotics emerge as the great opportunity to drive solutions to the problems the demographic crisis will create, complementing and even replacing the human workforce in various areas, which is the main hope for maintaining our current quality of life.

That is why Apple seems to be betting on this kind of technology for the home, which will carry ever greater weight in the coming decades.

The time to act is now!.

Will our authorities understand?
